- Parang -
The Parang is an amazingly versatile tool and is capable of everything from heavy chopping through to all but the most delicate of tasks. This is because the Origin parang is balanced at the choke point between the handle and the blade. When using the parang held in this position it is possible to use the heal of the blade for fine tasks such as carving feather sticks with no strain on the wrist. Alternatively taking a full grip on the handle provides some serious chopping power.
